TENNESSEE FOOTBALL KING?

Okay guys the season is here and its time for the annual CBS Sports NCAA football debates. I believe there should be a couple of rules observed for two things when it comes to NCAA football.

    Those two things are:

  • No polls until the 5th week of the season.

  • No who's Conference is better until the 5th week of the season.

I know it's hard to believe, but most teams in the big conferences are relatively well matched to all the other teams in the NCAA big conferences. I know that a lot of guys on the boards think that if a team like OSU moved to the Big Twelve then they would only win six games, or if UF played in the PAC-10 they would only win seven games a season. On the flip side of that, the guys that think that if OSU/UF went to a different conference they would be undefeated every year. I believe that good solid teams play good solid football, and they would adjust to the football being played. They would actually play at the same level with limited improvement or decline. I know from years of watching football that it has evolved into a sport of parity and this will continue to be for my lifetime. The days of ND football being king or USC football tradition being a class above is all in the past. The days of BEARS' dominance and BO S' ability to get the best out of every player is all in the past. We have arrived at a plateau that will be the face of NCAA football for years to come. I believe that tradition is important, but it has been devalued with the limits placed upon the teams scholarships. I'm not for NCAA football parity. They have socialized the core of what made football really good, the ability for a team to be a dynasty is no longer a feasible reality. Everyone believed USC would be unstoppable with the talent they field. UCLA, I guess, was the David to their Goliath. You will not be able to count on anything to be the way of tradition. The APPY ST games will be more the norm than the exception. Good luck to all of your teams and good luck to all that believe that parity is king.

My Blog Is A Failure !

My Blog Is A Failure

Okay. I have found that people are not as interested in me as I am of myself. I didn't get the love that I wanted with my first attempt. Now I will give it a second chance with a little “what do you guys like to read in print?” I can tell you that books are good but I have an affinity for magazines. I read many varieties of the old periodicals. Nothing deviant. I like good clean magazines about most everything. I love guns, off road vehicles, ATVs, motorcycles, trains, planes, PCs, and cars. This doesn't include sports magazines that I read on a regular basis. I guess what I would like to know is: What things do you like as pastimes or hobbies?
